Day 261
My granddaughter Hailey will be one in 3 weeks...where did the time go? My daughter decided that we should make her Birthday party invites. I had bought a whole stack of the Birthday paper at Tuesday morning for 1.99. Using the Klic and Kut we cut the cupcake from pink and yellow paper. The yellow was put through the Cuttlebug with a Crafts Too butterfly embossing folder. For the top we used the Cuttlebug divine swirl folder. Then we picked a font with a number one that we liked cut that with the KNK. It was embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot folder. The flame was cut and stickles applied. I cut the items, my daughter assembled everything. The inside says "Our Little Cupcake is Turning One" and then had the party info.
I think this would make a cute birthday card for just about anyone. You could change the number on the top to what ever you wanted.

Day 260
Do you recognize the plaid paper from yesterday? :O) The flowers are an old KNK file from Dawn. They were cut on my KNK, each flower having 3 layers and then a stick on white "gemstone" for the center of the flowers. The "Thinking of You" was printed on pink cardstock. I really need to remind myself that the printer will print on colored paper just as well as it does on white paper. :O)

Day 259
I bought this little bunny stamp on sale. Although I do not like stamping I had to have this bunny. I used watercolor pencils to color him, added stickles to the bubbles and liquid pearls to the tub. I used my KNK to cut the square from the plaid paper and then just attched the whole works to a card. I think it is pretty sweet!

Day 258
This card is much like yesterdays. The silver part is silver vinyl applied to cardstock and then put through the Cuttlebug. It looks much nicer than I anticipated. I decided to use only one square instead of 2 like yesterday and then used a piece of ribbon to finish it. I have so much ribbon and rarely think to use it.
My niece Anne swears she reads my blog, so Anne, if you are reading this, this card is for your dad.

Day 257
A friend of the family who is close to 90 years old was just inducted into the local "Bowling Hall of Fame". I had purchased a bowling stamp at a tag sale because my youngest brother bowls and thought it might make a nice card for him someday. I haven't made his card yet but it came in handy for this card. The large black paper was coredinations which I put through the Cuttlebug and then sanded. The rest is just black, gray and white cardstock layered.
Yesterday I took the grandkids home , they had been here since Tuesday night. My daughter had won an award through work and they had the award program in Vegas. So my daughter and her husband went to Vegas and we got the kids. I was soooo tired by the time they went home, but I missed them before I even left their house. :O) I am fortunate that I am able to babysit for them 2 days a week so I will see them on Wednesday.

Day 255
As with most people, I love babies and children. And I love making things that are for babies and children. This plaque originated from My Vinyl Designers. The original one said "Welcome to the world little one..." and I decided to personalize it. I used silver vinyl and cut it with my KNK.Some of the letters are really tiny but the cut well. I think I will be making more of these. :O)

Day 253
Totally off topic but a follow up of yesterdays post. The young lady on the right is my daughter Tashja, who is 25. Tash was born with Klippel-Feil Syndrome, which is a congenital fusion of 2 or more cervical vertabrae. Tash also has multiple other problems but as you can see from her picture she is happy. When she was 4 she had to have a blood clot removed from her brain. A friend gave her a stuffed elephant. "Ellie" and Tash soon became best friends. Tash's older sister Jodie became concerned that if anything ever happened to Ellie Tash would be heartbroken so she looked long and hard for an identical Ellie. Well, as you can tell from the pictures, one Ellie is much loved after 21 years and the other is still just a back up. Ellie has been washed do many times that she is now held together with 3-M medipore tape which is why she wears the dress.

Day 252
I really like this bunny from My Scrap Chick. Like the bear from yesterday it is in the "tear bear" fashion but the KNK does the work. My daughter has picked a stuffed animal with each of her 2 children and from birth to age 1 took a picture of them each month to show their growth. Gavin had an elephant who is still his best friend, Hailey has a pink bunny. So the big pink bunny will go to my daughter to be used on a scrapbook page. The little white bunny doesn't have a home yet. :O)

Day 251
This little bear is a "tear" bear from myscrapchick. Although it resembles the tear bears the KNK does all the work! I used coredinations paper and lightly sanded the edges of the dark brown pieces. The nose and eyes are vinyl. This pattern had "paws" on the arms but I didn't like them so I left them off. Tomorrow I will have the second half of this pattern, bunnies! Last night my two grandkids arrived for a five day stay with us. My daughter, their mom, won a trip to Vegas so her and her DH are on a well deserved vacation. My grandson Gavin is 3 and loves puzzles. I bought a 399 piece puzzle that has "big pieces for little hands and little pieces for bigs hands". It is all jungle animals. It was meant for ages 6 and up but he is doing a great job. I think he has more pieces together than I do! Hailey, who will be 11 months old Sunday, is taking a nap, thankfully!
Everything I post this week was made last week as I knew I wouldn't have time. I may even have a guest artist...time will tell. :O)

Day 250
My daughter had painted my grandson's room and had bought him dinosaur bedding. She wanted some dinosaurs for his room. I could have cut them from vinyl but I thought they may be too plain. I made these by printing on Avery full sheet clear labels and then cutting around the image. These have been up for months and the only problem was that when my daughter rearranged the room the dinosaurs were right by his bed and he decided to pick at them. But Grama made him some new dinosaurs to replace those he had picked at and all is well.

Day 249
Usually I try to make sure that I have things done at least a few days before they need to be done. But Valentine's Day snuck up on me somewhat. I had some cards done but wanted to make something cute for the grandkids and great nieces and nephews. Because I waited until the last minute and they all had to be mailed I needed something I could "Mass produce" but would still be personalized.
Ileana, from http://www.iscrapdesigns.blogspot.com/ had posted a Valentine file and I decided that I would use it. I just cut her file, cut the "We heart Gavin" from red vinyl and it was done. I just had to change the name for each child so it went fast. I used the Martha Stewart Valentine heart punch on the bottom.
Today is one of those days I thought I could play from morning to night and life keeps interferring. I haven't accomplished much at all.

Day 248
Here is Quinn with his cake made by his Aunt Amanda. It is some blue monkey that is on Dora. :O) I decided he had to have something personalized for his room so here is the helmet that I made with his name. Pam had asked how I learned to layer vinyl and it is just a process of trial and error. Vinyl is really pretty forgiving and if you are off with the placement it isn't too difficult to peel it up and try again.

Day 247
My niece and her family just moved into their first house. With Quinn's birthday it seemed the perfect opportunity to get the things that were needed for his bedroom . The bedding picture is the picture on the package for the quilt that we chipped in for. The picture on the right are the wall decals that I cut from vinyl to go with his bedding. This was my first attempt at layering vinyl and it went ok. The softball is 6 inches in diameter, the football and soccer ball a bit bigger.
Hopefully Quinn likes it!

Day 246
My great nephew Quinn will be 2 on the 13th. He is just a little doll, but like most 2 year olds he keeps his parents on their toes. This is the card that I made for him. It was a free train I picked up some where, and I duplicated it, broke path and removed the windows on one piece and left them on the other. I then flipped it and welded the two pieces together on the top. The words were all cut from vinyl. Quinn is the little guy in the first window, the rest are his cousins. Tomorrow I will post pictures of his present!

Day 245
This card started with a package of Martha Stewart flowers that I got on sale and then never used. Seems to be a reoccuring thing with me. :O)
I used a Black textured cardstock for the background, a gold textured cardstock for the main part of the card, added a black organza ribbon and the flower and the card was finished. I stamped the inside with a Thank you stamp.

Day 244
Both of these cards were made using a scalloped image from the font 09KutUps. It was a free font posted to be used by cutters. I don't have the link but if you google it you should be able to find it. Both cards used the scalloped image which was mirrored and welded. Then a simple circle was cut for the center. The yellow one is quite a bit bigger than the blue one but both are pretty sweet!

Day 243
This card started with a Sizzix cupcake embossing folder. I made the cupcake using coredinations whitewash paper, embossed it, sanded it, colored the bottom blue, used stickles and gems on the top, and then matted it with pink cardstock embossed with the cuttlebug swiss dot folder. I used a paper from Tuesday Morning as the background & added ribbon. The final touch was cutting the Happy Birthday from vinyl using my KNK.

Day 242
This was suppose to appear on Saturday but for some reason it didn't and actually disappeared on me twice??? Hopefully the third time is the charm! I promised a picture of the blog candy that was won by Doreen and here it is. I will be doing this again but this time there will be no warning! To win you have to be signed up as a follower and if you have posted a comment with in 10 days you will receive a bonus gift.
My son Jim got up today and put on his Colts sweatshirt. It was a gift to him from his brother when he was going to school in Indiana. I don't think Jim realizes today is the Super Bowl and the Saints will play the Colts. His only interest in football is seeing the National Anthem sung. And unfortunately they rarely show it until the playoffs. So we will see if Jim's shirt is an omen or a fluke. :O)

Day 240
These aren't the best pictures. :O(
My daughter Jodie asked me to make some scrapbook pages for a co-workers little girl. She wanted Disney Princesses. So I cut out 3 Princesses using my KNK. The first one, Cinderella, is about 2.5 inches and the pieces were tiny. Then I cut Aurora, and I made her bigger, but because she is a bigger file the pieces were still itsy bitsy. By the time I got to Snow White I made her huge, she is about 6x7.Much better. When I talked to my daughter that night she said the little girl's name is Tristen and her favorite Princess is Snow White. Well, did I get lucky or what. In the pictures the pieces are just sitting on white paper...I told Jodie I would make the images, she had to make the pages. The files are all from Cricut cut with the KNK.

Day 237
This card was made using some cute gift wrap paper. I cut rectangle with a window cut out that fit the snowman. I ran the rectangle throught the cuttlebug with the snowflake folder. I then attached the gift wrap and window to a baby blue mat and then the whole works to a card.
Although I cut the rectangle with window with my KNK you could use an exacto knife if you don't have a cutter.

Day 236
Happy Birthday to my Baby Sister Becky! My card today is made from a computer generated picture printed on photo paper. I cut "Celebrate" from silver vinyl and added an eggplant colored mat. I think most of the cards this week will be from things I had or computer generated. Both yesterday and today I have accomplished little in the craft department, not for lack of trying, but from lack of success. Tomorrow is another day!
