Day 449

Hailey Grace is 19 months old. She is a big girl because she wants to be like her big brother. She already says potty, and goes potty on the potty. Her brother Gavin likes to do "art projects" so Hailey decided she had to do one also. In the picture she looks ready to go but all she wanted to do was eat the crayons. :O)

Day 448

Here are some of the cards I made for the grandkids and the great nieces and nephews. I think all of them were made using a free font. I have no memory so I can't even tell you what font. :O) The top two are all cardstock, the bottom 2 cardstock and vinyl. I think the card with the bats will go to my grandson. He told me he wants a bat for Christmas. When he was 2 we got him and ant farm for Christmas. He thought it was neat, his parents did not. When he was 3 we got him planet frog. You get the habitat and then have to order the tadpoles which they ship when the weather is warm. They arrived in June and I don't think they have grown at all since then. His parents are sick of the tadpoles and want to send them to Grama's but my grandson won't hear of it. I looked on line and some tadpoles take as long as 6 years to become frogs. :O)
My main computer is gravely ill. I can do one thing and it crashes. Today I actually did a dozen things but it was so slow. My new computer should be here by the end of the week. Once I get it set up and connected to my KNK I will be happy!

Day 447

A friend gave us a Birthday card that I she had made at a workshop. It was a little 4x4 card, very cute and different. I decided to use the same design but make it larger. It is a trifold card that is also like an easel card. The picture on the left is of it standing, on the right laying down closed. The Happy Birthday is cut from vinyl using the KNK.
My computer is having major technical difficulties and so I checked to see how old it is. It is almost 8 years old! I put off getting a new one because I hate the thought of going through everything and deciding what to move. I have an external hard drive, so most everything is in two places which helps. It would be nice if the computer fairy came and had a new computer all set up and ready to go. But just in case, I will probably order a new one. :O)

Day 446

6
This is the baby shower invite I made for our upcoming baby shower. I cut the card from white cardstock and used the swiss dot Cuttlebug embossing folder on the bottom part of the card. The top two parts are embossed with the baby Cuttlebug folder. I made 40 of them and used 1 sheet of dark pink, 2 sheets of light pink, and 40 8x10 sheets of white cardstock. So my cost for the paper was less than 5.00. Time is another story. :O)

Day 445

I received this card for my Birthday from Colleen P. It is the cutest card ever! The papers used for the bird are perfect, as is the musical cuttlebug background. I have already told her that I will be duplicating it, she did a beautiful job! Thanks Colleen!
Although I have been missing in action I have been busy. I had to make 40 shower invites and those are done and sent out. I now need to work on thank yous for all of the October Birthday gifts. With 3 of us having Birthdays in one week it gets to be a bit much. :O)

Day 444

Well, you learn something new everyday. When someone leaves a comment, I always try to respond. I reply to the email notice of the comment. Well, I noticed today that the email is sent via a "noreply" which means if you respond, the email doesn't go through. So to everyone I thought I responded to and didn't, I am sorry!
Lisa asked aboput the plaque and Day 441( I think) It is made with a 6x6 wall tile. If you want to drill holes through a tile to hang it, make sure it is a wall tile and not a floor tile. Wall tiles are meant to be drilled through, floor tiles are not. I put a piece of masking tape over the part where I am going to drill. This prevents the drill bit from chipping the tile. Then, using a ceramic tile drill bit, proceed to slowly drill through the tile.
Colleen, Thanks for you comment on being organized! I wish I was. I have learned to get things done ahead when I have time, because when Josh was alive, we never knew from day to day, even hour to hour, whether we would be home for the day or in the hospital for a week. So if I left things for the last minute there was a good chance I wouldn't have that last minute.
My niece Anne lived with us for a bit while waiting for housing to become available in Japan when her husband was in the service. She started getting me organized, another year or two and she would have maybe gotten the job done!

Day 443

No, it isn't cards. My nephews girl friend is having a baby in December and I have always made burp clothes for the babies. I was out of pink so I made a batch of pink. I buy 3 yards of 3 different pink flannels and that makes 56 burpers. Next time I need to remember to get 4 yards of each because then I will have 6 batches of a dozen burpers rather than 9. When you have an infant you realize how many burpers you can go through in a day. I also make each of them a personalized Christmas stocking, and I am almost done with hers, but will need to wait until they decide upon a name to finish it. They are counted cross stitch.
I may be MIA for a few days. Today I am making a 5 hour trip to take my mom to see her sister who is 88 and in the hospital. Saturday we are having the "October Birthday Party" so I have a lot to do to get ready for that.

We will have cupcakes and pizza for lunch bacause the grandkids are here, then swimming, take the grandkids home, and then back home for supper and more cupcakes!

Day 441

I love this plaque! The saying is from Vinyl Ready Designs
I have bought about 1/2 dozen of their sayings, the are inexpensive and they cut great. I buy the ESP and import them into Klic N Kut and they are ready to cut .

Day 440

The card on the left is from My Scrap Chick. I cut the Happy birthday from vinyl and it was in my card parts pile. :O)
Wisconsin is right in the middle of fall colors.

Day 439

Today is my son Jim's 36th Birthday. He was born in 1974 and weighed 3#5oz. In 1974 70% of infants born at that weight did not survive. But after 29 days in the hospital he came home! My grandson Gavin is with him, both with their pink hair and shades. 2 of my favorite guys. :O)
The card was traced from a pdf and made into a knk. The picture isn't the best but she has a "pearl" necklace and her hat has  specialty yarn as the embellishment.

Day 438

This card was made with a file that was on our KNK CD. It is called a suspended snowflake card. I was looking for a file and while looking for that file found lots of files that I had forgotten about. I REALLY need to organize. :O)

Day 437

I am trying to find THE card for Christmas cards this year. I love this Believe in the Magic, I think it is from Vinyl Ready Designs. I definitely like the card on the solid paper the best. It is a red "handmade" paper that I bought on sale. It is a bit harder to transfer the vinyl to because of the fibers, but it was worth the effort.

Day 436

Another card parts card. I have a ton of card parts to use and it is fun to go through them and see what I have made. The train is coredinations paper, the wording is vinyl.

Day 435

This is a card parts card. I had the bunny and the Happy Birthday to You cut. The bunny is a My Scrap Chick file and the wording is from Chris Durnan. When I make a piecing file I almost always cut several at a time. You can put a half dozen together pretty fast and it is so much easier to cut them all at once while you have the papers you need ready to cut.

Day 434

My great niece Allison Rose is 4 today. She is the youngest of 3 girls in her family. Happy Birthday Ally!
The card was made using a party hat file that I found somewhere free. I made the hat into a sidefold card. The name and number are cut from vinyl.

Day 433

This card was made using Ileana's  latest fancy frame file. So many of her files can be used for scrapbooking or cards. I made the card using coredinaltions paper for the frame and white vinyl for the lettering. I made another one using white vinyl for the entire thing. The all vinyl card got an A+ for easy, the coredinations card was more elegant.
