Day 15

I love this saying! Although it is linked to the Breast Cancer Support Group, I think it is appropriate for any woman battling an illness.
This is another simple card...I think that is about all I do. I don't have the patience to spend an hour on a card. The "Fight Like a Girl " was designed and cut on my KNK and then just glued to a pretty piece of pink paper.

Day 14

Another simple card. The paper is a very pretty silver foil type paper. The With Sympathy is computer generated, matted and glued on. Simple, fast, and prettier than it looks in the picture. I am in the middle of organizing my supplies and do I have supplies. My vow to use what I have may last years!

Day 13

A sweet and simple Happy Birthday card done with the Cuttlebug and Scorepal. I love making these because they are so simple and they look so elegant. The color was added with colored pencils and the Happy Birthday on the bottom was computer generated.

Day 12

Todays card is made with a Cricut file cut on my KNK. I love Black, white, and red together! The red and black card stock was embossed with My Cuttlebug. It was a simple card to make.
Tomorrow we are suppose to have a "major" snowstorm so hopefully I will have time to play. :O)

Day 11

I had a nice day with my daughters and 2 grandchildren. Also got to have lunch with my sister, 2 brothers and my sweet mom!
The card I made for today was one I had seen in Papercrafts and thought I can make that. So I designed a file and cut it out! Sandy, our KNK guru, has made it easy for anyone to learn to make their own files. When I got my KNK I never thought it would be possible! It is a simple thank you card cut with my KNK. Anyone with a KNK can request the free file by emailing me at nancyk4@frontiernet.net

Day 10

The card I did today has an owl that Char, a member of our KNK group provided to us free! You can find it here. http://creativeshrapnel.blogspot.com/ The owl was cut out using the KNK.
It is a simple card with the owl on the front which was embossed with the Cuttlebug. I wanted to use the number embossing folder but the numbers would have been upside down. The inside says "Whoooo's Counting???Happy Birthday!"

Day 9

A few more baby things today! I made Hailey a framed scrapbook page that has all of her birth info.It is all cut out using my KNK. When they get tired of it it can easily come out and go into her scrapbook. And then I made her a simple card that just says "Welcome to the family Hailey Grace"on the inside. The card is from double sided mulberry paper and the letters are cut with my KNK. My mom has 10 great grandchildren, 7 of them under 3! It makes family get togethers so much fun, we no longer have to fight over the little ones, we just pass them around and chase them. It doesn't get much better.

Day 7&8

For some reason my post yesterday got lost in cyber space. BIG NEWS!!! Little Hailey Grace was born March 21st 6#15 ounces, 19 inches long. My daughter Jodie called shortly after 3 to say her water had just broke, they were leaving Gavin at the neighbors, would I go stay with him. And so I did. 2 hours and 42 minutes after going into labor Hailey was born at 5:42. I took Gavin to see his little sister when she was just 2 hours old. My how times have changed! She is just precious. They should be going home today and I think it will be good for Gavin to have everyone at home and as normal as can be with a new sister in the house.
I am posting a picture of the Christmas stocking I made her and of Gavin and Hailey.

Day 6

We woke up to everything covered with snow again which was a surprise. Now it is a beautiful day and the snow is gone.
My card today is stamped and colored with watercolor pencils. Everytime I use this technique I feel like I am back in first grade coloring.

Day 5

Long day, short post.
Todays card is another Thank you card made with the Cuttlebug and Word, Simple but so sweet!

Day 4

Gavin, my grandson is here today with me, napping right now. His mom is working from home tomorrow so I took him overnight and he will swim with us tomorrow morning. He is so sweet. Nothing new with his sister, she is still has an anticipated arrival date of March 31.
It is cold today. After being 60 or close to it all week, 30 is cold! State boys basketball tournaments start today!
My card today was made using my KNK software and word. It is a simple Sympathey card but I love the way it looks.
Gavin was yelling Grama and I ignored him because my daughter says to ignore him so he naps. Well, the poor baby wet his pants because he was trying to tell me he had to go potty. :O(
He sleeps in a crib here and he has only been trained for 3 weeks . At his house he has a toddler bed and if he has to go he gets up and goes. I guess we need to look at putting him in a twin bed.

Day 3

It turned out to be a warmer day than predicted. Tash had an appointment for a CT scan and then to see her new neurosurgeon. We learned that she is pretty screwed up medically but there is nothing that they can do to fix it...we knew that already. So that is pretty much how we spent our day so far.
Jodie has a doctors appointment today so I should find out what progress my new granddaughter is making towards her expected arrival in 2 weeks. Tomorrow and Friday I am gone to watch Gavin in Waupaca. Today I was thinking that when the new baby arrives I will have to move his car seat so that baby has the inside of the back seat. It makes me sad to move Gavin over near a door which is not as safe as the middle of the back seat. The things Grama's have to worry about!
My card today is a birthday card made with PC hug club graphic on paper that I had that just happened to match. The border is again the Martha Stewert punch. There is a row of "bling " which is hard to see and stickles glitter on her heart and tiara.

Day 2

Tuesday's are typically my "day off" We don't go swimming and I don't watch Gavin, so it is a day with no schedule. Today after making breakfast and riding my excercise bike I gave Molly and Lucy baths and hair cuts. I bought a new clipper and it came with a video. They showed how to properly clip your dog. I should have had the dogs watch it. The dogs in the video sat through their whole grooming without moving. Mine laid down to hide their feet and bellys, shook their heads, and did everything they could to get out of a haircut. After getting them done I vacuumed the entire upstairs, I should have done the haircuts outside. Then it was laundry, feeding all of the critters, washing the van and grocery shopping. We came home and Tash and I had lunch and went for a walk. Tash talks the entire time we walk so it isn't really a peaceful walk. Today we saw 2 sandhill cranes, 3 caterpillars, and a robin. Everything was happy with the 60 plus temps, tomorrow we are back in the 30's. :O(
I then took pictures of the van as we did decide to sell it. So if you know of anyone who needs a very nice wheelchair van let me know!
Today's card is a Cuttlebug embossed card with a heart cut with my KNK. The bottom border is made using a Martha Stewert border punch.

Monday, March 16, 2009

I have decided to make this blog because I make lots of cards and paper crafts and I want the people that I know to be able to see them. They are hard to describe to someone over the phone! My main focus lately has been able to use the supplies that I have on hand, which are many. :O)
I have a KNK Maxx which is a cutter and I absolutely love it. Once you purchase the machine you never need to buy another thing except maybe a new blade or mat occasionally. There are no 89.00 cartridges, just files you design, get free on the internet, scan and trace, or you can purchase "files" from the many talented designers. For more info contact Sandy at sandy@iloveknk.com.
I also have many stamps but do not consider myself a stamper because I am not good at it. I love to create things on word and print them to use on my cards. I have so much fun!
I also love using the Cricut Cuttlebug to emboss my cut items or cards. The first picture is of a cupcake gift basket that was cut using my KNK Maxx and them embossed and assembled.
I am going to try to add something new everyday, we will see how long that lasts!
I hope my WI relatives and friends are enjoying todays beautiful weather.
