Day 482

My grandson is a huge Dora fan so when I saw this file I had to make it for him. It was on a free SVG site and I converted it to KNK. It has some pretty tiny pieces so I decided to cut most of it from vinyl. I made a background piece from white paper, then cut the brown body from brown paper, the rest is vinyl. Her hair is outdoor vinyl so it has a glossy finish. Now I need to make some cards. I made 9 of these so that I can also send some to my great nieces and nephews. If you want the file just e mail me. I am happy to share any file that I did not purchase.

Day 481

My nephew just became a first time dad to Olivia Elizabeth. I couldn't resist making her this. The font is a 2 Peas font, but it took a fair amount of editing. I am not sure why so many of their fonts are "sloppy". The oval is 13x11.

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Day 480

I finished the last of the 3 boys names today. I started with a 2 Peas font called the 4th of July. It was very jagged so I did a lot of node editing, made my own stars because it was quicker than editing the stars, and here it is. Doing things for kids is so much fun, I wish I could do it every day!

Day 479

This is the second of three names I am making for Jasmine's cousins. Gavin's dad is in the Army so I used a stencil font similiar to the Army font and did red, white, and blue. Once again it is about 12x24. Much simpler than Spiderman. :O)

Sunday, December 26, 2010

Day 478

This is another vinyl name that I made. When I made the vinyl "Jasmine" her cousins saw it and wanted their names. Noah loves spiderman. This was a pain to make. Lots of weeding and then transfering it, not something to do unless you have a lot of patience. :O)  But I think it was worth the effort. It is about 12x24.

Day 477

Merry Christmas!
Thanks to everyone that takes the time to check out my blog! I haven't been the best at posting the past month or so but hope to get back on track starting tomorrow!
Enjoy the Holidays!

Day 476

I have 4 Birthdays that I need to make cards for this week. I had some card blanks cut out from the Peace card that I made last week and decided it would make a sweet Birthday card. The font is PC Dazzle and it is cut from turquoise vinyl.

Monday, December 20, 2010

Day 475

Another card scrap card, I like it better than the original one that I made using the Joy file.

Sunday, December 19, 2010

Day 474

I don't like it when I miss days posting. I made over 120 Christmas cards, and so many of them were the same so while they took up my free time, I didn't think you wanted to see the same card 50 times. :O)
Now that I am almost ready with Christmas preparations I spent a little time cleaning up and in doing so put together some card scrap cards. Here is one of them.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Day 473

This card was made using a Cuttlebug folder. It is just a simple winter scene but I love it!

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

Day 472

I love this file! The entire thing was cut from vinyl. The base of the card is the white colorblok from WalMart. It is the whitest white and has such a nice texture to it. I am not sure where the file is from. With Windows 7 I don't see the files the same way I did before and it makes it harder for me to go back and look at them.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Day 471

This cute little bird is from Treasure Box Designs. It was simple to cut and assemble.

Sunday, December 12, 2010

Day 470

I think this card is so pretty. The file is from Sam&Hailey at Paperthreads. The Peace is cut from copper Oracal vinyl. The paper is from Colorbok at WalMart. It is a nice textured paper that comes 40 sheets for $5. I love to use white !
I thought I was doing pretty good with my card supply until I starting writing them and realize I need to make 50 more. And then my mom called to say she needs at least a dozen to finish her list. Oh my!

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Day 469

The cards today started with a MySrapChick free file. Not sure that I really like either of them. :O)
The last picture is our barn/garage and todays snowfall. The picture was taken from the house, through the window, so the quality isn't the best.  But the snow is beautiful!

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Day 468

This design came from Treasure Box Designs. I think I may be addicted to paper piecing. Every thing but the "Warm Wishes" and the eyes , which are vinyl, is cut from paper.

Monday, December 6, 2010

Day 467

I cut this for a friend who has a 5 month old niece. It is cut from Oracal 631 pink vinyl .It is 22 inches wide and 13 inches high. The font is Spontscr from Klic n kut Studios. And of course it is cut on my KNK. So easy, so much fun, and hopefully it will look great in Jasmines room.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Day 466

My sister works at a group home for adults with disabilities. A few years ago I made Christmas stockings for each of the residents. Since then 2 have passed away and 2 new residents moved in this year. So here are their stockings. Their names were cut from felt with my Klic n kut.

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Day 465

Another 6x6 wall tile. This was a purchased file but I had to redo it because the Parents and Grandparents did not cut well. I did an outline of them in KNK Studio to make it thick enough to cut properly.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010

Day 464

This is a 6x6 wall tile that my husband drilled holes in so it could be hung. If you want to make tiles to hang on the wall make sure you are buying wal tiles. Floor tiles are not made to be drilled through.

Monday, November 29, 2010

Day 463

This tile is so sweet, it reminds me of my grandson and son-in-law.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Day 462

Another tile. This was made on a 6x6 tile. I buy my vinyl from www.uscutter.com. My files are generally from vinyl ready designs or my vinyl designer.

Saturday, November 27, 2010

Day 461

I have been busy making tiles for a craft sale next weekend, the only one I have done in 2 years! This is a 12x12 tile and the black vny was cut on my KNK Maxx.

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Day 460

This card was made using a Cuttlebug folder that was exclusive to a company in the UK. They were sold out but I was able to get it on EBay. The Merry Christmas is stamped and a silver Zing embossing powder applied.
I have been busy although my posts don't reflect it. Hopefully after the Holidays life will slow down a bit. I think I say that every year bt it never seems to happen. :O)

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Dau 459

My daughter came and spent the day with me on Sunday, a rare event. She does some great scrapbook pages for her kids Gavin and Hailey. She gets the ideas and then tells me what to cut. :O) This page has some flowers from where else but MyScrapChick and the journal part was done with a pen and the KNK.

Friday, November 19, 2010

Day 458

Turkeys galore! I wanted to make something for our local hospice group for Thanksgiving, and this is what I came up with. My son Josh was only in hospice care for 1 day before he passed away, but we were thankful for their help. Monday, it will be 2 years since Josh passed away. Each turkey has 24 pieces and I made over 70 of them...all I can say is it was a heck of alot of little pieces. :O) (Just came to mind that there were 24 pieces and Josh was 24...hmmm)
Some of them will be for my family seeing I am in charge of the Thanksgiving dinner each year.
It is a My Scrap Chick pattern , coredination paper, and cut with the Klic n kut.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

Day 457

This is the same card as Day 453 but made into a 4x6 card and the hat trim and heart are embossed. I always am amazed at what a difference the embossing makes. It is another card for the swim team. I made some for my daughter to use as an invitation to her annual "winter get together".

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

Day 456

This is another card made for the swim team. It is from the same My Scrap Chick file as the green card. It is also embossed with the Cuttlebug. The paper is coredinations and it is all cut with my Klic-n-kut!

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Day 455

This is the same teacup card as the last post but embossed with the Cuttlebug embosser. This is going to be a card that goes to the "swim team", a group of ladies in their 60's -80's that swim at the pool at the same time that the kids and I go swimming. About half of them are no longer able to make it to the pool, but once on the swim team, you are always on the swim team. :O) I make 1/2 dozen cards for each of them a few times a year and they love to get them.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Day 454

My Scrap Chick has a new pattern out called tea cups. They have a variety of different shaped tea cups. This is one of them I stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday on the front . The paper is all coredinations and it was cut using my Klic n kut!      Happy Birthday Teresa!

Saturday, November 13, 2010

Day 453

This card started out as a My Scrap Chick treat box file. I decided to make it into a card. I think he is pretty cute. :O)
He can be a Christmas card or just a general winter card. The paper is all coredinations and the eyes are vinyl. The heart on the hat is a fiskars stick on gem .

Friday, November 12, 2010

Day 452

This photo doesn't do this justice. I had a piece of aqua blue paper and stamped it with my glue pad and used seafoam white embossing powder. I am not sure what I am going to do with it but it made a beautiful piece of embossed paper.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Day 451

This card was made using a My Scrap Chick cutting file. The papers are coredinations, the "so thankful for you" is cut for vinyl. Although it is a great Thanksgiving card it would be a nice card anytime of the year.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Day 450

I'm back...maybe just for today but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope to have my new desktop operating tonight and maybe have some free time soon to make some cards.
These are some party favor boxes I made for a baby shower we had this weekend. My daughter made truffles that went into each box. I used a free box file that I converted to KNK and embossed it with the cuttlebug baby folder.

Thursday, October 28, 2010

Day 449

Hailey Grace is 19 months old. She is a big girl because she wants to be like her big brother. She already says potty, and goes potty on the potty. Her brother Gavin likes to do "art projects" so Hailey decided she had to do one also. In the picture she looks ready to go but all she wanted to do was eat the crayons. :O)

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

Day 448

Here are some of the cards I made for the grandkids and the great nieces and nephews. I think all of them were made using a free font. I have no memory so I can't even tell you what font. :O) The top two are all cardstock, the bottom 2 cardstock and vinyl. I think the card with the bats will go to my grandson. He told me he wants a bat for Christmas. When he was 2 we got him and ant farm for Christmas. He thought it was neat, his parents did not. When he was 3 we got him planet frog. You get the habitat and then have to order the tadpoles which they ship when the weather is warm. They arrived in June and I don't think they have grown at all since then. His parents are sick of the tadpoles and want to send them to Grama's but my grandson won't hear of it. I looked on line and some tadpoles take as long as 6 years to become frogs. :O)
My main computer is gravely ill. I can do one thing and it crashes. Today I actually did a dozen things but it was so slow. My new computer should be here by the end of the week. Once I get it set up and connected to my KNK I will be happy!

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Day 447

A friend gave us a Birthday card that I she had made at a workshop. It was a little 4x4 card, very cute and different. I decided to use the same design but make it larger. It is a trifold card that is also like an easel card. The picture on the left is of it standing, on the right laying down closed. The Happy Birthday is cut from vinyl using the KNK.
My computer is having major technical difficulties and so I checked to see how old it is. It is almost 8 years old! I put off getting a new one because I hate the thought of going through everything and deciding what to move. I have an external hard drive, so most everything is in two places which helps. It would be nice if the computer fairy came and had a new computer all set up and ready to go. But just in case, I will probably order a new one. :O)

Day 446

6
This is the baby shower invite I made for our upcoming baby shower. I cut the card from white cardstock and used the swiss dot Cuttlebug embossing folder on the bottom part of the card. The top two parts are embossed with the baby Cuttlebug folder. I made 40 of them and used 1 sheet of dark pink, 2 sheets of light pink, and 40 8x10 sheets of white cardstock. So my cost for the paper was less than 5.00. Time is another story. :O)

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Day 445

I received this card for my Birthday from Colleen P. It is the cutest card ever! The papers used for the bird are perfect, as is the musical cuttlebug background. I have already told her that I will be duplicating it, she did a beautiful job! Thanks Colleen!
Although I have been missing in action I have been busy. I had to make 40 shower invites and those are done and sent out. I now need to work on thank yous for all of the October Birthday gifts. With 3 of us having Birthdays in one week it gets to be a bit much. :O)

Day 444

Well, you learn something new everyday. When someone leaves a comment, I always try to respond. I reply to the email notice of the comment. Well, I noticed today that the email is sent via a "noreply" which means if you respond, the email doesn't go through. So to everyone I thought I responded to and didn't, I am sorry!
Lisa asked aboput the plaque and Day 441( I think) It is made with a 6x6 wall tile. If you want to drill holes through a tile to hang it, make sure it is a wall tile and not a floor tile. Wall tiles are meant to be drilled through, floor tiles are not. I put a piece of masking tape over the part where I am going to drill. This prevents the drill bit from chipping the tile. Then, using a ceramic tile drill bit, proceed to slowly drill through the tile.
Colleen, Thanks for you comment on being organized! I wish I was. I have learned to get things done ahead when I have time, because when Josh was alive, we never knew from day to day, even hour to hour, whether we would be home for the day or in the hospital for a week. So if I left things for the last minute there was a good chance I wouldn't have that last minute.
My niece Anne lived with us for a bit while waiting for housing to become available in Japan when her husband was in the service. She started getting me organized, another year or two and she would have maybe gotten the job done!

Day 443

No, it isn't cards. My nephews girl friend is having a baby in December and I have always made burp clothes for the babies. I was out of pink so I made a batch of pink. I buy 3 yards of 3 different pink flannels and that makes 56 burpers. Next time I need to remember to get 4 yards of each because then I will have 6 batches of a dozen burpers rather than 9. When you have an infant you realize how many burpers you can go through in a day. I also make each of them a personalized Christmas stocking, and I am almost done with hers, but will need to wait until they decide upon a name to finish it. They are counted cross stitch.
I may be MIA for a few days. Today I am making a 5 hour trip to take my mom to see her sister who is 88 and in the hospital. Saturday we are having the "October Birthday Party" so I have a lot to do to get ready for that.

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Day 442

Happy Birthday Tashja! Tash is the baby of our family and is 26 today. The picture is of Tash (dark hair), Stacy(who helps with the kids in the pool) ,and Hailey Grace , our granddaughter who is 18 month. We will have cupcakes and pizza for lunch bacause the grandkids are here, then swimming, take the grandkids home, and then back home for supper and more cupcakes!

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Day 441

I love this plaque! The saying is from Vinyl Ready Designs
I have bought about 1/2 dozen of their sayings, the are inexpensive and they cut great. I buy the ESP and import them into Klic N Kut and they are ready to cut .

Friday, October 8, 2010

Day 440

The card on the left is from My Scrap Chick. I cut the Happy birthday from vinyl and it was in my card parts pile. :O)
Wisconsin is right in the middle of fall colors.

Thursday, October 7, 2010

Day 439

Today is my son Jim's 36th Birthday. He was born in 1974 and weighed 3#5oz. In 1974 70% of infants born at that weight did not survive. But after 29 days in the hospital he came home! My grandson Gavin is with him, both with their pink hair and shades. 2 of my favorite guys. :O)
The card was traced from a pdf and made into a knk. The picture isn't the best but she has a "pearl" necklace and her hat has  specialty yarn as the embellishment.
