Day 280

This card was made using a file from Ileana at IScrapDesigns which can be purchased at www.paperthreads.com  Ileana's file says "No Regrets". I changed it into Happy Birthday and made it into a card. The black on the card is Faux Leather Liner Contact paper. It is so cool! I bought an 18 inch by 15 feet roll at Home Depot for 6.99. It cuts like vinyl. I used a little higher pressure (37 on the Maxx) to cut it because it is textured and thicker than vinyl. The card base was made by applying the Faux Leather to cardstock and then cutting the file. I did this so I didn't need to worry about matching the leather to the card front. The Green is just a textured cardstock.

Day 279

This is the last of the 4 cards from MyScrapChick spring faces files. It reminds me of an Elmer Fudd "Wabbit". He is pretty cute. He is cut from Coredinations paper, the eyes are vinyl, and the whiskers are hand drawn.                              Happy Easter week!

Day 278

Another card from the MyScrapChick Spring Faces files.
This little guy is my favorite I think. He could be an Easter card, a Spring card, or a baby card. He is cut from Coredinations paper and the eyes are vinyl. Like I said before this type of file is great when you are in a slump because all you basically do is cut and assemble, you don't have to be "creative". But it does get you in the creative mode. :O)

Day 277

This is card number two made with Spring Faces from My Scrap Chick. The paper is Coredinations, the eyes are vinyl, and all of it is cut on the KNK!

Day 276

This card was made using the Spring Faces file from My Scrap Chick. The paper is Coredinations and cut on the KNK. The file had 4 "spring Faces". This is my least favorite of the 4. The card needs to have a saying on the front, just haven't figured out what it should say.

Day 275

It is still hard to believe our baby girl is one! She wasn't as thrilled with her cake as we thought she would be, but then she is not use to sweets and she had to get through the white chocolate frosting to get to the cake.
She is a little princess so I made her a card with a princess crown. The background was done with  the divine swirl cuttlebug embossing folder. The crown was white coredinations paper, the name done with vinyl, and a few gems added for sparkle. The inside lettering is white vinyl.
It is so much fun to be able to use the KNK to make personalized cards!

Day 274

Happy Monday!
Today I finally got my act together and did the drawing for my one year anniversary which was March 16th. I decided to do it different this time and for every comment left it earned you one name in the drawing. The winner was Colleen. So Colleen, watch for your goodies!
We are having another nice spring day so I am hoping to head outside and get some raking done.
When I get my camera back Wed I will have some really cute things to show you so keep watching!
Have a great day!

Day 273

Today was Hailey's Birthday party. It was so much fun as there were so many little ones. And of course I left my camera at their house so I don't even have pictures to share and won't until Wed. Bummer.
I have been in a bit of a rut lately and so I bought a new My Scrap Chick file. It makes it so easy because you don't have to be creative, you just cut the file. And it seems like once you make a cute card more are sure to follow.  I am hoping that is the case as I have 4 cards to make in the next day or two.
My two nieces that I cut vinyl trees for were at the party and they both had pictures on their cameras of what they had put up so far. Both looked so cute and I hope to have pictures to share soon. My niece that I made the 7 foot by 7 foot tree put it in her nursery. Baby arrives March 3oth and then we will put the finishing touches on depending on whether it is a boy or a girl.

Day 272

This is a sign that I made for  my granddaughter's first Birthday party, which is tomorrow. She turns one on Sunday. They had a closeout on printed posterboard at Walmart so I got the paper for a dollar. The lettering was cut from vinyl.
Yesterday I went with my daughter Jodie to take Hailey for her first birthday pictures. Hailey wasn't too happy but they managed to get some good pictures anyway. Hailey had been to the doctor the day before and it turned out she had an ear infection and seasonal allergies so she had good reason to be cranky.
I haven't been doing much crafting the past few weeks, having a hard time getting motivated to do anything unless it is on the top of the to-do list. My blog anniversary was March 16th and I wanted to do a blog candy give away for it. I still plan on doing it, just need to get the names ready and pick a name!

Day 271

Sorry for the crappy pictures. :O(  I forgot to take my camera when I gave it to my mom so this is as good as it gets. The top of the wine glass is etched with her initials, the bottom says "One's my Limit" on both sides of the circular bottom. The wine glass itself is about 2 feet tall.
I used the KNK to cut a stencil from white Oracal 651, the outdoor vinyl. I then used Armour Etch and it works like a charm. I bought a small 3 oz jar and that will last me forever. You apply the cream to the area you are etching, wait 60 seconds, scrape off the excess Armour etch and put it back into the container, rinse with water and it is done. Because you can reuse the salvage it lasts through many projects.

Day 270

The last 2 weeks have been so busy between babysitting, swimming, doctor's appointments, and life in general. I did complete 2 big vinyl projects for my nieces aand plan on delivering them today. So as soon as I have pictures I will post them. I also made one of the big "wine glasses" from Michaels like Judy had shared with us. Thanks to Kylee's great instructions with Glass etching it was a breeze. I made it for my mom who is 86 today. Hopefully I can get a good picture of it with her. I took some pictures but glass is just hard to photograph.
A couple of days ago I posted we had plenty of snow on the ground, well we are now down to very little snow. It would seem as if spring arrived.
Because I have no  craft pictures today I am sharing some of my favorite people doing our favorite activity. Gavin is going the cannonball. :O) The person holding Hailey is Stacy who helps with the kids at the pool. She has been helping with Jim for 15 years!

Day 269

Not the best picture...sorry. This little bird is something I found and traced. I am thinking of making it larger and putting it on the wall above a door so I decided to cut it card size to see how it looked. The card isn't finished but here is the bird and it is all cut from vinyl.
We are having some great spring weather. It has been in the 40's  for the past 4 or 5 days. I have managed to take a walk for the past 4 days, the last 2 day taking our Yorkie along with our Weimaraner. Neither dog has ever walked on a leash before. We have 30 acres of land so they can put on a lot of miles chasing bunnies. But they both do great. Lucy, the yorkie is full steam ahead, keeping her leash  taunt. And Amy the Weim still walks at a perfect heel. Today I saw a dozen catapillars even though we still have plenty of snow on the ground. It is so nice living where we have 4 distinct seasons!

Day 268

I take my kids swimming 2 days a week and we have gotten to know some of the life guards. I made tiles for 2 of them that had won a special place in my son Jim's heart. And then one of the other life guards said "What about me?" So I told her to give me her favorite quote and I would make her a tile. This is what she chose.

Day 267

Something Different. I have wanted to do something with my lap top for a long time. Part of it is scuffed up because of how it sits on the handles of my excercise bike. :O) I wanted to camoflage that. I didn't want anything frilly or cutsie. When I saw this silhouette of the Beatles I knew it was what I wanted. George was my favorite! I was able to save the image and convert it into a KNK cutting file. I used Oracal 631 black. Unfortunately it doesn't cover the scuff mark but I will work on that!

Day 266

Spring arrived today in WI. It was 45 degrees! I took advantage of the warm weather and cleaned and sprayed my mat. I also took our dog for a walk. This may not seem like much but she is 7 and it is the first time I have ever taken her for a walk. :O)
She walked at a perfect heel which is amazing as she is a pretty naughty Weimaraner.
I spent much of my day cutting vinyl...I can't believe how much vinyl I cut. :O) But my two nieces projects are now completely cut. Ya hoo!
I made this card using a file that Linda from my Yahoo group shared. It was an embroidery file made into a KNK file. The thinking of you was cut from vinyl.

Day 265

Just wanted to let you all know I am still alive. I had the grandkids for 2 days and have had a bit of a cold. I just haven't felt very motivated to do anything. :O)  Tomorrow I will hopefully finish cutting the vinyl for my 2 nieces. One wants a tree that is 7 feet tall and 7 feet wide. I had most of it cut and ran out of vinyl so I had to wait for my vinyl to arrive. My other niece wanted a smaller tree and some flowers which should be easy to cut. When it is cut and up I will post pictures.

Day 264

This card is so stunning when you see it in person. I can't remember the origin of the cutting file but I think it was a free silhouette picture that I imported into KNK. I cut it from black vinyl and then put it onto bright colored cardstock. It took a bit to weed this but the transfer and application was pretty simple as it is all one piece. You could do this with black paper and then you wouldn't have to deal with weeding but you would have to deal with glueing.
If you want the file just email me!

Day 263

March first, spring can't be too far away.
I had bought some baby decals at our $ store and never used them. I also had this paper so I decided to put the decals on the paper and they looked cute. Then I used my KNK to cut "It's a Boy" from blue vinyl and the card was done. Pretty easy!
