I love embossed cards! It seems like when I was a child the nicest card you could get was an embossed card, but maybe that was just my memory. :O) The embossing folder used for this card is a Sizzix folder which I used in my Cuttlebug. Embossing folders are about the only thing that I purchase for my cards other than the basics like paper, glue, & vinyl. The Font used is Calligrapher Regular which I believe came with the KNK Studio. It is a great font to cut from vinyl because there is little or no weeding. As I have mentioned before, I make a lot of Sympathy cards. My mom is 87 and she says that she needs them "in bulk". Embossed cards are easy to make "in Bulk". :O)

Day 687
I don't know who the designer of this file was but I believe it was called Dahlia Frame. The white frame, the Happy Birthday, the black scroll, and the flower center were all cut from vinyl. The black backgroundnand the white and black flower petals were cut from textured card stock. And of course they were all cut using my KNK Maxx. :O)

Day 686
I don't think you can go wrong with a black and white card. This is all card parts thrown together for a sweet Birthday card. The white is all vinyl, the black textured cardstock, all cut on my KNK Maxx!

Day 685
What a simple card to design in Klic N Kut Studio. All I had to do was make a circle and resize it. On some of the circles I used the ginsu knife tool to cut them off so that they could be used on the edge. I ran them through my Cuttlebug using the dots folder. I think this card would work for any gender and any age.

Day 684
This card was an oops card. When I was cutting my Snow Owl Card from My Scrap Chick I cut all the parts from black thinking they needed a black mat. Well, they didn't so I had a bunch of black owl parts. A normal person would have scrapped them, but I am of the waste not, want not set of mind so there they sat. Of course the wings blended in with the body so I took a grey colored pencil and outlined them to help seperate them visually from the body. He is all paper except for the eyes and the little red heart. The heart was not part of the file but I thought he needed a little something extra. The white on the eyes was done using a white sharpie paint marker. I have had it for several years and it works great everytime I use it. The Happy Birthday is also vinyl.

Day 683
Another Hello Kitty card! I can't tell you how much fun these cards are to make, you just have to try it! This is the only one of my Hello Kitty cards where I used some paper. The black outline is paper, the rest is vinyl. If I had to do it over again the whole thing would be vinyl. And of course the whole thing was cut on my Klic N Kut Maxx. I am not sure if I will add words to this card or leave it just the way it is.

Day 682
Another Hello Kitty card. I will have a few more in the days to come. If you want the file in KNK I would be happy to send you a zip file with all of the Hello Kitty files. This Hello kitty is also all vinyl and was so much fun to make!

Day 681
Hello Kitty! She is just the sweetest little thing. She was cut from vinyl and so simple to make. Although she does have a lot of pieces it is so simple to assemble when you don't have to glue.

Day 679
This card is a combination of new and Card parts. The Happy Birthday is cut from vinyl. It is the card part. Any time I cut something from vinyl I generally cut about a dozen. It makes it so much easier the next time I want to make a card to have part of it done. I really don't remember where the Happy Birthday file came from but if I had to guess I would say I Scrap Designs The white scalloped front is from My Scrap Chicks. They have a set of card fronts and matching envelopes that are kind of fun. It seems like in our family we have a minimum of a half dozen Birthdays a month, usually closer to a dozen, so Birthday cards are always in short supply.

Day 678
What was I thinking? I thought this little frog would make a perfect card for some little boy, and then I used a pink background. Oh well, I know a few little girls who like frogs. :O)
The eyes, checks, and Happy Birthday are cut from vinyl, the rest from Coredinations paper. Every thing is cut using my KNK Maxx.

Day 677
More card parts. I had these assembled for over a year. Once again, I can't remember where I bought the file. I do know that it is a zillion little pieces. Look at the little snowflakes on the little girls boots. This was when I had my first "ah ha" moment with vinyl, but not soon enough into the project. Only the little girls jacket zipper pull is cut from vinyl. As tiny as some of the pieces are everything cut perfectly using my KNK Maxx.
The white background paper was embossed using a Cuttlebug.

Day 676
This card may end up being a "Thinking of you" card as the bunny is too solemn looking for Happy Birthday. :O) Once again, not sure where the file came from, but it is a peeper ... meant to be looking over something. She is cut from paper with the exception of her nose and eyes which are vinyl. I very seldom use "glue" any more. By that I mean a white glue like Elmer's glue. Between vinyl and my Scotch ATG 714 glue roller I have most of my glue needs covered. Glue dots also come in handy at times.

Day 675
Hello Kitty is such a precious little cat. :O) This card was made using a Cricut file and cut on my KNK Maxx. It is one of my most favorite things about my KNK, the numerous types of files that can be used. You don't have to buy cartridges, once you buy a KNK you never need to buy expensive cutting files. WooHoo!

Day 674
I am not sure where the file for this card came from. The black fence is vinyl, the yellow windows a light weight shimmery paper, and the rest is coredinations. I usually buy my paper at Joanns when they have a 5 sheets of paper for 95 cents sale. I tend to stock up which can be helpful when you need to make something at the last minute. Where I live the closest paper store is one hour away so I can't just " run to the store". :O) The lettering on the card is all vinyl. The font is Jester, the scrolly font is Robopassion conflict. And of course it is all cut using my KNK Maxx

Day 673
This cardinal is from Lettering Delights. They have tons of cute files that can be cut on a KNK. Both birds were cut from Coredinations paper. The white background is embossed using a Cuttlebug, the other card just has Christmas Scrapbook paper. The bird is just 2 pieces, super easy to assemble!

Day 671
A simple but sweet baby card. The background white is embossed using a Cuttlebug. "Baby" is just b a b y typed, Break path to separate the letters, marquee select each and arrange them the way you want them, make path and weld. Then contour object for the mat and you are done. This was designed using KNK Studio and cut using my KNK MAXX

Day 670
This little bluebird has been sitting around for awhile also. I am pretty sure he is not a MSC file, he just doesn't fit with their look. He is paper except for his eyes which are vinyl. He is sitting on a piece of ribbon. I have a to of ribbon but seldom use it on cards. Everything was cut using my KNK MAXX.

Day 669
I just love this crow! I think it is a My Scrap Chick file but I may be wrong. He is a card part...something I made long ago and there he sat waiting to be put on a card. And here he is. This card was made before I decided to mix paper and vinyl so he is entirely made of paper and cut on my KNK Maxx.

Day 668
Do you remember this little Elephant from my White Elephant Tags? I had one extra and used him for this card along with the same Happy Birthday from yesterday. All of the white is vinyl, the rest paper.

Day 667
This card is a card parts card. I could easily make 100 card parts cards. :O) When I cut a file I have a tendency to cut more than one, I get a bit carried away. But the good thing is I always have a part of a card ready to go. The bad thing is when I make a card I can never remember who to give credit to for the file design. :O( The font for the Happy Birthday is Jester, another easy to cut and weed font. The Happy Birthday and the flower center are vinyl, the rest is paper.
To make my MIL happy I skipped post 666 and made this 667. :O)

Day 665
My grandson loves angry birds. I went in search of angry bird files and found SVG's free on www.theladywolf.blogspot.com. If you have a KNK and do not have MTC you can download Inkscape for free, import the SVG into inkscape, save it as an EPS and then import the EPS into KNK. Sounds like a lot of steps but it goes fast and so worth it for a free file. My nephew is having a Birthday on the 9th. Now mind you, he is going to be 36, but hopefully he will like this card. :O) The black background for the bird is textured paper, the rest is vinyl. I love using vinyl because there is no gluing little pieces! But it would work just as well using all paper.
The site above has many other files like Hello Kitty, Max and Ruby, check it out. If you need help converting just let me know.

Day 664
I still have many half done Christmas projects so I am trying to finish them to clear up my desk...not that my desk will ever be clear. This little one with the candy cane was an image I found on-line and printed. And there she sat for months until I came up with these two cards. If I made 12 cards a month from now until Thanksgiving I would be ready for Christmas 2012 when it arrived. I start the year with good intentions but they never seem to get me through the year.
The first card has a red backgroung that is embossed with the Cuttlebug. I used stickles on her bow and the red on the candy cane, and I stitched around the patches on her pj's with a pen.
The second card has the same embossed red paper.
The Love is just the word typed, the O put on a slant, and then the letters welded together. Then they were cut from vinyl using my Klic n Kut Maxx.
2 cards down, 118 to go!

Day 663
After a bountiful Christmas I needed some Thank you cards. I am not sure how that need led me to Ducky's Designs, but it did. She had an adorable free file for a thank you card, you will have to check it out. It was a four piece file and I had a hard time figuring out what went where, I am challenged that way. So here are 3 versions of the card, none of them as nice as Ducky's original, but they will do the trick. :O)

Day 662
So I am on a Niece theme. 30 years ago we had a New Years Eve Party at our house. It was all family members and many of them spent the night. On January 1 we had a blizzard, we didn't think that anyone would be able to make it back to their homes. My baby sister was expecting any day, and so they braved the weather to get home. Amanda Marie was born the next day and I was lucky enough to be her godmother. She is now married and mom to 4 year old Drew and 1 year old Annah. Happy 30th Birthday Amanda Marie!!!

Day 661
My niece Abby and her husband Nick both graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Nick's birthday was December 29th and I am so bad at making cards for guys. So this is what I came up with, UW Madison's logo. With the Badger's playing in the Rose Bowl tomorrow this seemed like an appropriate Birthday Card. :O)
Go Badger's!!!
