My grandaughter, Hailey Grace, was baptised Sunday. With all of the cards that I had, none were suitable for a baptism. So, I made this card. I got lucky that her name worked to overlap into a cross. I designed it in KNK Studio and cut it with my KNK. Hailey is almost 6 weeks old and gets cuter every day!

Day 44
This was one of my first projects that I designed on my own with my KNK and I thought I was pretty smart. It was made for a 50th Birthday. I took floral foam and wrapped it as a gift, stuck in 50 suckers, and made the 50 Sucks sign and attached it to a dowel which I then stuck into the center of the suckers. It was a big hit!

Day 43
It was one of those days, so I am posting a card that I made for Valentine's Day.
This cute card is another Cricut Hello Kitty cut with my KNK. I stamped the word love on the balloon, but it would be a cute Birthday card also. The edge, which was cut off when I rotated it, is a Martha Stewert border punch.

Day 42
This card was made by a fluke. :) I had some blank blue cards that I bought on sale and hoped to embellish. The flowered paper was some 2 sided 12x12 paper that I bought at Joann's 5 for $1. And the owl was cut with my KNK. The card is blank inside and I am not sure if I will add anything or not. I rather like it just the way it is, a fun little card.

Day 41
This card doesn't show up very well. It is actually a pretty purchased white embossed paper, not a dirty yellow as pictured. My sweet niece just miscarried her sweet little one. She was in her first trimester and had been trying for a year for this little one. I know there are many people who have tried for years and years, but when you are trying each new month is such a disappointment. And then to finally be pregnant and then not be able to carry the baby is a hugh loss. The saying is one she had posted on her Facebook page when she lost the baby and I just printed it onto the paper. The green and white hearts were cut with my KNK and then the white was stamped with a little baby footprint stamp that I had.

Day 40
These cards were the result of a mistake. "Ducky", a member of our KNK group, gave us this file free. When I cut it I neglected to note the size and it was huge, way to big to use all 4 pieces on one card as I had intended. It was this crazy monster and 3 balloons. So I ran one ballon through the Cuttlebug with the Birthday word folder and made a card. Then I made a second card out of the "monster". I thought they turned out cute considering they were different from what I had tried to make.

Day 39
I tried rotating the scrapbook page picture and in Adobe it is rotated. But when it gets here it is sideways. Sorry! My daughter had seen a similar page and wanted to make one for her son, Gavin, who has her eyes. She didn't want to have to glue each letter down. So I cut the words from vinyl using my KNK. I gave her both transfer tape and repositional clear vinyl to transfer the letters to the page, but she said she just peeled them off and stuck them on the page. She said they were easy enough to reposition if she needed to. Pretty cool. And the other picture is Gavin's sister, one month old Hailey Grace! What a little love.

Day 38
I love making baby cards! This was a graphic from www.pccrafter.com/pchugclub/ that I cut out and attached to a piece of matching scrapbook paper. I think this is from the Belly Button Collection.

Day 36
I made this page for a friends daughter , Susan. Susan loves purple and the whole family loves Disney. This picture was in their Christmas card this year and I wanted to make it into a framed page. The most difficult part was finding where I put the picture. :O) The Disney items are from Cricut, cut with my KNK. They are paper pieced, kind of like putting a puzzle together. The mat behind the picture was cut with the KNK and put through the Cuttlebug embosser.

Day 34
I found this rose paper that I fell in love with and finally made a card with it. I had 2 colors of Stampin Up paper that worked great with it. I always forget that you CAN stamp on colored paper, I am so use to stamping on white paper and then adding color.
It dropped 30 degrees in temperature from yesterday to today and it is sprinkling on and off. The perfect day for making cards.

Day 33
I missed a day. I planned ahead so that I wouldn't miss and did anyhow. Yesterday was our son Josh's birthday. It was our first birthday without him and he would have been 25. Words can not describe how much he is missed.
My card for today is a Cricut Hello Kitty Card cut with my KNK. I made a bunch of these for Valentines day, but they would be cute for almost any occasion.

Day 31
This acorn card if from a pdf file I found somewhere and converted to a KNK file. I used the scorepal on the cap and the leaf to give them some dimension and chalked around the nut (light tan) part of the acorn. I added a bit of raffia just because. I thought it turned out to be a pretty sweet fall card.
If anyone wants the KNK file just email me.

Day 30
This is a card that I designed in KNK Studio, exported to Word, and then printed. I printed it on watercolor paper because it has such a great texture. The brown and wine colored paper were both run through the cuttlebug and the card is finished with a simple ribbon. This would be a great Mother's Day card for all the Grandmother's out there.
I hope everyone is having a great day. It is in the high 50's here in WI so I am heading out to do some outside work.

Day 29
Christmas Cards??? Last year I donated a bunch of cards that I had made to a local nursing home for the residents to use. Many are only allowed $65 a month to cover all personal items, and that doesn't go very far. I had received a bunch of "sample card fronts" in the mail and rather than throw them out (waste not, want not) I glued them to the front of blank cards and stamped the inside with a message. My goal is to have 100 cards done by Veteran's day. This year I will donate them to the State Veterans home. It is simple to do and a mindless way to create. I also include all occasion cards so that they have some available for Birthdays and such. We all make cards that when we get done with them they aren't what we had in mind but are still perfectly fine. It is a good way to recycle them!

Day 28
Today's card was made using a PC Hugclub graphic . I imported the graphic into word, added the text and printed it. I then used my Martha Stewart scalloped edge punch and punched the top and bottom. It is a fun card to make! I like using graphics because they are hard to mess up and consume little time.

Day 27
Happy Easter!
We are off to the family Easter celebration! Above are the post it holders I made for family for Easter. I used a 4x6 double acrylic frame from Walmart ($2) Extra sticky post it notes from Walmart($1) and little calendars from www.SkyBluePink.com (.30) Some paper and ribbon and they are done! I like the extra sticky post its because the seem to stay better. I use Tacky tape to adhere them to the frame.

Day 26
Yesterday we colored Easter Eggs. We haven't done that in years because there never seemed to be enough time. I knew it had been a long time when my daughter Tash thought they would be chocolate eggs. :O)
Today I managed to finish cleaning the flower beds. Another one of those things that in years past would have taken forever to get done. It was nice to have them done, but also a sad time.
I told my husband that I realized why my dad, father of 8, liked to garden and do yard work. You have peace and quiet and the kids don't bother you for fear you will put them to work.
My card today is a congratulations card using a Cricut file and cut on my KNK. I made one for a friend, and when I cut a file I usually cut several so I can make several cards at the same time. They all generally each turn out just a bit different.
Friday, April 10, 2009
Day 25
A simple card made with a purchased green card, some "groovy" paper, and a scallop cut with my KNK. The "Happy Birthday" I cut the ovals and then print them. A little ribbon and the card is complete!

Day 24
Today we put the finishing touch on Hailey Grace's room. She is 18 days old and cuter by the minute. My daughter, Jodie, had planned a "framed " area for Hailey's initials and I cut them out of vinyl with my KNK. Even though the plaster had a rough texture it went on fine and looks great! We may add some white butterflies and daisies.

Day 23
We will see how many people realize that Day 23 was posted on Day 22.
I am going to be gone tomorrow and made this card tonight that is so sweet. The little duck was a free download on http://www.theangelcompany.com/. I used a circle punch to cut him out because I haven't tried the print and cut yet. I then used a scalloped circle that I cut with my KNK Maxx. I made a gatefold card. I like the gatefold card and they are so simple yet I rarely make them.
Day 22
We are finally having some nice weather. I am sure some of you would think it was cold, but it is 45 and the sun is shining! I cleaned out one of my flower beds. The crocus are in bloom and other spring flowers will follow soon.
Today I have a lamb that I made. It is one of the few files I have made on my own! It was designed in KNK Studio and cut on my KNK. The scalloped part was put through the Cuttlebug. If I can do it anyone can!
If you want the file e-mail me and I will send it to you!
Enjoy the day!

Day 21
The pictures don't do these cards justice. I used a file that I found on www.dianasdesignsonline.blogspot.com. I cut the card on my KNK Maxx. I altered the onesie card by running the onesie through my cuttlebug and then added my granddaughters initials to the bib. The font used is rickles. The bib card is a card I made using Diana's bib, enlarging it in KNK Studio, making it into a card, and having Welcome Little one cut out with the bib. I then cut a pink bib without the letters and the holes and used that to line the card. Again the font is rickles. Diana has her files for sale at www.paperthreads.com. If you need help with the bib card let me know.
Tomorrow I will have a free file available, KNK format only.

Day 20
As promised here are 2 new cards.
The black and white is done with a stampin up stamp that I borrowed from a friend and stamped on glossy photo paper. I sometimes get it at the dollar store so I get 20 4x6 sheets for $1. I love anything black and white. The second card is stamped with a stamp from Clear stamps. The tulip was stamped on watercolor paper and then colored with prisma watercolor pencils and finished with a SU blending pen. The cardstock was ran through the cuttlebug. Fast, simple, elegant!

Day 19
No picture today! :O( We were gone half the day and had company after that so no time to figure out the wireless printer. I will add 2 pictures tomorrow!
Friday, April 3, 2009
Day 18
This card was made by printing "just a note" on yellow card stock and then cutting out the Push pin with the KNK. You can use any paper for the back ground. If you want the file for the push pin just e-mail me at nancyk4@frontiernet.net.

Day 17
A bit out of season but I am installing a new wireless printer and having technical difficulties. The printer is what I use to read my camera card. This card was made with a KNK file from Shirley Clark. Her files are sold at www.paperthreads.com The file was actually a calender November file and I just changed the wording to "Happy Thanksgiving" and made it into a card. It was one of the first things I made with my KNK and Shirley was a great help to me in learning how to use my KNK.

Day 16
This was one of my many Valentine Cards that I made to send this year. The pink hearts were made by embossing pink cardstock that had a white core with a Cuttlebug and then running a sanding block over the top to make the white come through. I then welded the letters for Love together and cut them with my KNK. It looks sweeter in person.
I hope all of you are having a great day!
