Day 509
I think this file was from a Lettering Delight's SVG, but then again I may be wrong. It is cut from light blue vinyl.

Day 508
This football card was made using a My Scrap Chick Shape card file. The pink in the background is just that, background. The inside of the card says "Happy Birthday To You". With the Packers in the Superbowl I may have to add to this card to make it into a Packer football. :O)

Day 506
This was a fun card. I saw something similar on another site but the person had used all kinds of punches and stamps. I wanted to use what I have. The gold is all oracal copper vinyl cut on my KNK. The font is PassionsconflictROB. I thinkened the font .05 because I was going to cut several and it is a bit easier to weed. When weeding font I always weed the insides of the letters first before removing the big part around the word. It seems to give it more stability when you are weeding tiny parts out of a delicate font. I used a Martha Stewart Valentine punch for the border. I own about 1/2 dozen punches. It is amazing how few tools you need when you have a Klic-n-kut!

Day 505
I made this owl a while back and then had no clue what I was going to do with him. This is what I came up with. The yellow paper is much darker than what shows in the picture. The eyes and words are vinyl, the perch is ribbon, and I used stickles on his tummy. You can never have too many Birthday cards!

Day 501
I just finished the Valentine cards for the grandkids and great nieces and nephews...they were fun! The pattern is from My Scrap Chick. For some reason the antennas were not included in the pattern so I made my own. The words were cut from white vinyl using PCPazzels font.

Day 500
Day 500! Amazing. :O) This card started out as a simple frilly scroll card, I then added the Happy Birthday using PassionsconflictROB font cut from vinyl. It still didn't look quite right so I added a strip of black and pink behind the scroll work just to make it show up more.

Day 499
About a year ago I made a tree for my niece for her baby to be's nursey. At the time we didn't know if it would be a boy or a girl so she was going to decorate it accordingly once baby arrived. I have been waiting for a picture of the finished project and finally decided to post it as is. The tree was 7 feet tall and about 7 feet wide, not a minor under taking. And my niece put it on the wall when she was in her last month of pregnancy. :O) Little Annah will be a year old in March!
Special thanks to Sandy and Carol for their help with this project.

Day 498
My great niece Lilly turns two today! Her mom calls her Lilly Bug. For some reason the Lady Bugs on the front of the card remind me of Cockroaches...hopefully Lilly doesn't see them that way. :O)
My mom has a dozen great grandkids from 13 to weeks old. 9 are 4 and under, 8 girls and 4 boys. Talk about fun!

Day 495
A couple of times a year I make cards for the "Swim Team", a group of ladies in their 70's and 80's who swim at the same time that the kids and I swim. Because I am making closer to 75 cards I want something simple. I ordered the Crafts Too Valentines Frame embossing folder from Crop Stop. They ship fast and have very reasonable shipping. The paper is the Colorbox textured paper from WalMart, the words are cut from copper oracal vinyl.

Day 494
Happy Birthday Colleen! My friend Colleen sent me the most beautiful card for my Birthday. Although it was wonderful it put me into a panic. :O) I needed to make her the most beautiful card too. Her birthday was creeping closer and closer and it just wasn't happening. So this is what I came up with, it is the thought that counts. :O) The paper is a double sided "handmade" paper. One side is red, the other white with red hearts. It is just a simple scalloped card and the font is PassionsconflictROB, ny favorite fancy font. Also, Happy Birthday Emily, my niece who happens to share a Birthday with Colleen.

Day 493
This card is much prettier in person. :O) The embossing folder is a Crafts Too embossing folder from Crop Stop. I love this site because they have cheap shipping and I get my order in a few days.
It is called Valentine Frame and it is pretty sweet. I used white paper on a white card. The lettering is a copper metallic vinyl from Oracal. I order my vinyl from U S Cutter. They have 15"x10 yard rolls for 14.95 and a flat rate shipping. Again, you get your order with in a few days.

Day 492
This card is from a My Scrap Chick shaped card collection. The fold is at the bottom. I am not sure what I am going to use it for...any suggestions for clever sayings?

Day 492
Another card parts card. I had this sweet bird cut for so long I can't even remember where the file is from. I used the cuttlebug and the Swiss dot folder for the wings, and then sanded the paper. This is another Birthday card but it could be for many different occasions.

Day 491
This is a card parts card. I could do hundreds of card parts cards and not run out of parts. :O) I had made the bottom with a Cuttlebug folder and then set it aside because I couldn't decided what to do with the top. Birthday cards are always in short supply so I cut the Happy Birthday from turquoise vinyl, added the pink ribbon and another birthday card is ready to send.
Tuesday, January 11, 2011
Day 490
This was a free My Scrap Chick file. If you don't get their newsletter sign up for it because you get a free file each week!
This was a valentine card but I changed it to a Birthday card. I probably should have made the bow a different color so it stood out more. It has been one of those weeks where what ever I make isn't "quite right". :O)

Day 488
When you are in a slump, My Scrap Chick files are the answer. This is from the Polar Bear family set. It only took minutes to make. The bears are from colorbox paper, the frame is a shimmery paper, brand unknown, and the nose and eyes are vinyl.

Day 487
It seems like when I finally have time to sit down and make cards I have absolutely zero creative ability It is like that part of my brain shuts down.
One of my favorite nephews is having a Birthday on Sunday. Guy cards are always a challenge for me, and they really shouldn't be because I think most guys aren't too critical when it comes to cards. :O)
I used the pen tool on my KNK to make this. The font is union5_e3, a nice single line font.

Day 483
This angel was made from a free SVG file converted to a KNK. It actually came with 3 different borders. When I converted them I cut them from plain white cardstock to test them and then decided to try assembling one, and here she is. The head is a 1 inch ornament.I was fortunate enough to get the file before Christmas and stopped at Michaels on Christmas Eve to pick up ornaments. I have enough to make 45 angels. :O) I can't wait to try her with different papers.
