Day 328

This is another card made from a file from Ileana at MyScrapDesigns. I used my KNK to cut the card and the letter are cut from vinyl. You could add any sentiment that you want.   Yesterday my mom, 2 of my sisters, and my 2 year old great nephew came for the afternoon. We had a nice visit. Quinn, the 2 year old is so smart and so cute. It is always fun having little ones around.
The barn/garage is coming along. Hopefully it will be all enclosed in the next couple of weeks. Then we will take a break. When it is 90 degrees out it is too hot to work unless you have to.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Day 327

It is hard to believe Memorial Day weekend is here. We have been having summer weather for a while in Wisconsin. This past week has been in the mid 80's and as high as 92. Yesterday it rained and the temps are suppose to be in the 80's for the weekend. My garden is all planted and most of it is up so let's hope that the danger of frost is over. To signal the start of summer my card for today is a flip flop card from My Scrap Chick. If you don't get their newsletter you are missing out on some great free files. The paper is Coredinations and the edges are sanded.
Have a great weekend. We are doing my favorite thing...staying home!

Day 326

This card was made using the My Scrap Chick scalloped card file. As you can see, the possibilities are endless. The little black and white card is so sweet. It was all cut using the Klic-n-kut.

Day 325

This card was made using a  Martha Stewart punch on the orange paper and using a printed Happy Birthday. It makes for a quick card. :O)
We now have steps going to the second floor of the garage. The view from there is beautiful. I took this picture of our house from the garage. Our house is built into the side of a hill and the garage is on top of the hill.

Day 324

This is the second card that I made for my niece Katie. I had my family here for Mother's Day and when they come to my house I always let them take what ever cards they want. This card went home with someone. :O)
The file for the Hat and diploma were from Sam& Hailey at Paperthreads...I think. :O)  It is fun to be able to personalize.

Day 323

Happy Birthday Mary Bea! Mary is my younger sister. There are 8 kids in our family, I am #4, she is # 6.

Day 322

We now have a roof.  I am thinking the upstairs might be great for craft get togethers. Card #3 from I Scrap Designs oval frame.I love cards that aren't your typical rectangle. Cards that are shaped, fold on the top rather than the side, even rectangles with rounded corners. Just something to make them a bit different. I used silver vinyl for this card...should have stayed with black.

Day 321

Card #2 made from            I Scrap Designs oval frame.     I made this card for my niece Katie who will be graduating from High School this year. Katie is the baby of my parents 17 grandchildren and was born on my dads birthday, so she is pretty special in our family. I have made 2 cards for her so far and both were snatched up by family members. So I will make another card for her soon that will be from my family.

320

This is a file from Ileana from  I Scrap Designs. It was a frame which I made into a card. I made a series of these so that you can see how one simple design came become a multitude of cards.
The card itself is just black and white cardstock cut on the Klic n Kut. The Thank You is Vinyl, also cut on the KNK.

Day 319

This card was made with an embossing folder from Crafts Too. I just added the With Sympathy which I cut from vinyl.

Day 318

I saw a basket similar to this online and thought "I can make that". And I did. It is 3.5 wide, 5 inches long, and 3 inches high not including the handle. It is a fairly sturdy basket. I made a KNK file for it so if you would like it just ask.
Our garage is coming along slowly but surely.  This weekend my husband put the floor on the top floor. We had to get 4x8 pieces of 5/8 inch floor board up to the second floor, the sheets are really heavy. I helped which meant getting them up on top of a scaffold, then climbing the scaffold and lifting them to the trusses on the second floor. Considering I am not fond of heights it was an accomplishment.:O)
Hopefully tomorrow the contractors will get the roof at least partially on. I also tilled and planted most of my garden today. Hopefully it wont freeze.

Day 317

Sorry about the picture being sideways, but you can still see the cute butterfly cards from MSC. They are part of their new Shape Cards. They are small, if I cut them again I would probably resize them. I think the original is made to fit into an A2 envelope. Both were put through the Cuttlebug , the circle pattern was sanded, & I chalked the swirl pattern.

Day 316

This is the same bird as yesterday  just a different background paper, some ribbon, and some vinyl lettering.

Thursday, May 13, 2010

Day 315

Can you guess...another MSC file. :O)
This little bluebird is so sweet. All the paper used is coredinations. It is great because the core is the same color as the paper so you don't get the white edges. The eyes are vinyl.

Day 314

Here is Brother robot. Some of these My Scrap Chick patterns have lots of little pieces. But I like to do puzzles, and this is just another form of a puzzle. It was cut with my Klic n kut. It is an easy thing to make when you can't think of what to make...you just cut and assemble and don't have to think too much.

Day 313

Another card from My Scrap Chick. This is from her robot group. There are about 1/2 dozen robots to choose from. This is "sis" robot. I left the card blank.
Meet her brother tomorrow. :O)

Day 312

This was the first card I made with the MSC Bracket Card File. One of the lifeguards at the pool where we swim was turning 21 so this is the card that I made for her. The white behind it is not part of the card, it is the envelope. But it photographed better with the white background. :O)It is amazing all that you can do with one pattern to make it different. Everything was cut with my Klic n Kut.

Day 311

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!This is another card made with the MSC bracket card file.
I love being able to use the vinyl for sentiments. I use to try to find the perfect stamp and then when I found it I managed to smudge it. Or I would do a cut and print, which was a little more work.
This is so simple. Some fonts transfer better than others, the more delicate are really a pain but can be done. I often use an exacto knife to start the letters if they don't transfer as well as I would like. The vinyl is very forgiving , if you screw up it can generally be peeled off with out damaging the paper.
I used the Cuttlebug to provide the texture on the flower and white background paper.

310

I made these for my 2 adult children who live away from home. Both are great kids and they do make me proud to be their mom. :O) The card was a free file from My Scrap Chick and is called a bracket card. If you missed it they generally have their freebie in the dollar section after the free file expires. The lettering is vinyl, the font used PC Dazzle

Day 309

I made this card for a RAK card request from Shirley Clark. You can read about it on her blog at www.paperthreads.com/blog/shirleysdesigns. Shirley does this each month, it is the first time I have participated. The cutting file for the card is again from My Scrap Chick. I am in a rut...I need to make cards that don't require a lot of creative thinking, just cut and assemble. The Wishing You Sunny Days is PC Dazzle font cut from vinyl.

Day 308 Naughty card

I can't take full responsibility for this card as I saw something similiar on line. It is a printed card, not cut. I found the stick people on line, I can't remember if they were a font or not. I may send it to my sister, it matches her sense of humor. After I printed it I actually deleted the file from my computer...sad but true. :O)

Day 307

Another My Scrap Chick file from the whimsical winter package. This bird was cut from corediations paper. The wing is the Black Magic paper I used for yesterdays bird. I embossed it with the Cuttlebug swiss dot folder and then sanded it to let the white show through. The Hi is cut from vinyl.
Barn/garage update. The trusses are up! Gavin was lucky enough to be here the day the crane came to put the trusses up. He wondered why a "grampa" was in the crane. :O)
Friday the roof gets started.

Tuesday, May 4, 2010

Day 306

Another My Scrap Chick card. This bird is part of the whimsical winter package. I cut the bird from Black Magic coredinations paper. It is a textured black on the front and white on the back. It is cool for embossing which you will see on tomorrows post. BUT, it does not do well for fine detail cuts. The bird should have 2 curls on the top of it's head but the way the paper is pressed together makes it fragile for intricate cuts and the second curl fell apart.

Day 305

These cards are 3 variations of the same card. The file I believe was from Carrie at Paperthreads. It is a quick and easy thank you card.

Sunday, May 2, 2010

Day 304

I made this card for my Grandson to give to his sister for National Sister's week. When she was non-mobile he always called her "Sweetie". Now that she is on the move and into everything he is always saying "Hailey Grace Klopfer". :O)
The Bunny is from My Scrap Chick. The sweetie is cut from vinyl.

Day 303

Today I had 2 projects. One was to make a tile for my sister's in laws who will be celebrating their 50th. I also put together a bag of about 20 handmade cards for them. They are wonderful people!
The second was to help where needed on our garage. By noon my husband and brother had the walls up. The rest of the day was spent framing in the windows and getting the walls ready for the steel. It is now ready for the trusses which someone else will do because it requires a crane. It's pretty cool!
