Day 379

This card was made using a Cuttlebug embossing folder and the KNK with a pen. The font is Passion conflict.

Day 378

This card was made using paper from LaCreme matstack and vinyl. It doesn't get much easier!

Day 377

Another card using a converted Cricut lite file. I love the flower flourish but wasn't sure whay to do with it. Seeing I can never have enough thank you cards I decided to use it to make a thank you card. I cut the whole thing from vinyl, applied it to a card, added some red fiskars bling, and used the Cuttle Bee scoring tool to make the dotted edging.

Day 376

This was made using a converted Cricut Lite file. I started out making the tag as I thought it would make a nice addition to a gift bag or wrapped present. The paper is just plain card stock, the letters are vinyl. When it was done I set it on a red blank card and thought it would also make a cute card!

Day 375

I like the way this card turned out and will make it again, but I will use a more readable font. I wanted to put a saying inside a card made with a quickutz embossing folder. I measured the oval in the folder which was 4.50x2.20. I then used the shape tools in KNK studio and made an oval that same size. I then typed the saying and rearranged it and resized it to fit in the oval. I then took a sheet of white card stock and using the pen tool wrote the saying. I then cut it to size and embossed it. I used the pen tool to write the rest of the verse "Just know this message brings our love and sympathy today." on the inside of the card. Gotta love the KNK!

Day 374

This is another card made with a file from Wanda's Crafts. I think the file is called Iron works. At first I was going to attach a sentiment to the front, then I decided it is too pretty to hide any part of it, so this is the finished card. Simple as 1, 2, 3 cut. :O)

Day 373

A simple but cute Birthday card. It started as an SVG file which I converted to a KNK file. I wanted a white behind the cut out stars so I duplicated the card, used the ginsu knife to make the scalloped part of the card about 1.5 inches tall, broke path and deleted the stars, and I had the perfectly matched scalloped bottom in white. I then cut the Happy Birthday from vinyl and the card was done.
The original file came from Wanda's Crafts, see link on right.

Day 372

It has been one of those weeks. First, my car started acting up. It is 13 years old, so maybe it thinks it has a right to act up, but I need to decide what I want to get next before it can rest in peace. :O). My husband thinks it was just a case of dirty battery cables, I think there is more to the story. Time will tell. Then, my laptop decided it didn't appreciate the attempted repair my computer guy did and I had to take it back to be fixed. THEN, a long awaited appointment got cancelled and we have to wait another 2 weeks. And then, yesterday I came home from running a few errands and there was a strange noise. Turns out something broke in my washer during the spin cycle and it was trying to spin but couldn't. It is 8 years old and has done many loads but 18 months ago we got some major part replaced and the repair man said that nothing else could go wrong. BUT, the good news is, my KNK  still works. :O) Maybe I should knock on wood.
Today's project was a journal from Michael's dollar bin personalized with vinyl. It doesn't get much easier than that.

Day 371

I made this card for a friends Birthday using 2 different My Scrap Chick files. Both were offered as freebies. They have a newsletter that offers free files each Friday. When the freebie expires you can generally find them in their store for $1. The Happy Birthday was a tag that I made into a card. The file came with a flower but it didn't work with my color choice so I used another flower that they had offered a while back. Of course it was all cut with my KNK Maxx. :O)

Day 370

This card is the result of a file from I Scrap Designs. Ileana made the sign and said it would make a cute graduation card and suggested a saying very similiar to the one I used. The sign is cut from yellow  cordinations paper and the black parts are vinyl. The inside was done using a regular pen in the KNK with Bernhard Fashion font.

Day 369

Another set of pages for my sweet granddaughter. Again I used a free My Scrap Chick file.
Tomorrow my Brother in law and his wife from the Philippines , and my niece, great niece and friend from Hawaii will be here for a too short visit. It will be so great to see them!

Day 368

I made some more scrapbook pages for my granddaughter. I used some free files from My Scrap Chick for the key and the heart/lock. The rest is just font matted. Of course it was all cut with my KNK Maxx!

Day 367

This card was made using a Quickutz embossing folder and the KNK. I had a piece of paper that I wanted to use but it was too small to send through the printer. So I used my KNK and put a Sharpie fine point marker in the holder and wrote the "With Sympathy". I then lined it up in the embossing folder and embossed it.

Day 366

I made this page for my 15 month old granddaughter Hailey Grace. She is a little muppet but oh so opinionated. :O) She has a vocabulary of about 50 word, but her screaming temper tantrum speaks louder than words. :O) The title is from Darcy's Designs and the scalloped frames...maybe Mamaw's Legacy???

Day 365

This file is also a free card file from http://wandascrafts.blogspot.com:80/. The file is for the daisy card and I added the Happy Birthday cut from vinyl. I really like the die cut cards!

Day 364

Same file as yesterday, just another way to make it. Rather than cut the flower out of the cardstock I cut it from vinyl and applied it to the card.
Happy Birthday to my DH!

Day 362

Another "I can do that". I saw a sand castle that I liked and you were suppose to be able to download the pdf, but the link was broke. So, using basic shapes in KNK Studio I made it my self. Gavin, my grandson LOVES his sandbox. He could spend the whole day there. Hopefully my daughter has some pictures to go with the pages. Once again, nothing is glued down, just set on the paper so she can arrange them the way she wants them.

Day 361

My great nephew Drew turns three today! A friend, Colleen, told me about a page http://wandascrafts.blogspot.com:80/ that has some great free files on it. They are SVG which you can get a free download for Inkscape, save the file, open in Inkscape, save as an esp file, then import into KNK. Works like a charm. The card file is for the card and balloons. The 1,2,3 and the Happy Third Birthday Drew is just a font cut from vinyl.
Check out Wanda's site, she has some great free files. She also has a link to her store where she has files for sale reasonably priced.

Day 360

It is so hard to believe that my little grandson is 4. It will be a sad day for this Grama when he starts school and can't be with his Grama. :O(
Gavin loves dinosaurs and often asks to be told a T-Rex story. He has some good stories of his own. Gvin lost both front teeth early. The first one he chipped in a crawling mishap and later had to be removed. The second was the result of jumping on the couch.
The dinosaur is a file of Shirley Clarks from www.paperthreads.com. The rest is just font cut from vinyl.

Day 359

I was looking in a craft magazine and saw an adorable polar bear. When I read the article it was a sticker. I thought "I can make that" and I did. It could use some tweeking to look exactly the same. The head should be narrower and the eyes and nose placed higher on the head. But I still think he is cute. The picture from the magazine is behind the bear that I made in KNK Studio.

Day 358

I am having a heck of a time trying to get the pics where I want them. :O(
There is the picture of the 4 eggs. They lay their eggs in gravel and you really have to look to find them. Then there is a picture of the mom on the nest. She really blends in also. Both parents stay near by and look a like. And the last is one of the 4 babies. Once again, you need to look hard to see him. He looks just like the parents from day one and is up and running. Usually after the first day they hide in the grass so there is a limited opportunity to see them

Day 357

Sharon, from RSMobleysDesign ,(link on left)
shared some 4th of July files with us. I made 2 scrapbook pages for my daughter using the files. I didn't glue anything down because what I like and what my daughter likes are 2 different things. :O) This way she can rearrange it any way she wants.
The killdeer hatched yesterday, the babies are so darn cute. Since they hatched it has been raining. I bet they wish they were ducks! I will post pictures tomorrow.

Day 356

Happy 4th of July!
I made this card using a Quickutz file converted to KNK. The paper is Coredinations and the lettering is vinyl!
As promised below are pictures of my boys, Leo and Alf. Leo (White and red) is about 16 years old and Alf (bay black) about 9. Leo loves to give kisses but doesn't like to be touched. Alf will allow me to pet him.

Day 355

This has to be one of my favorites of all of the things that I have made. I am not sure what it was originally, it wasn't a frame, maybe the top of a display? I bought it at a rummage sale for $2 last year and I knew I would eventually find the perfect vinyl project for it. It is about 24 inches long and 10 inches tall. www.myvinyldesigners.com  sell ready to cut files. Many are just sayings like this that you could design yourself, especially if you have KNK Studio. But for $1.95 it makes sense to get the file and be ready to go. I have many of their files because they are an instant gift if placed on a tile.
My boys, Leo and Alf, got their annual hair cuts today, just in time for our 90 degree weather this weekend. Maybe tomorrow I will post their pictures.

Day 354

My grandson gave me a BEAUTIFUL necklace and earrings that he picked out all by himself. So I made him this thank you card.. I am sorry I don't remember who shared the KNK file with me. She had made it into an invitation and it was so cute. The part where the "Thanks" is is a flap that opens so you can write a message inside. The Thanks was a Cricut file I think, and the stars were embossed using a Cuttlebug border folder.

353

I made this Birthday card for my sweet husband who has a Birthday in less than 2 weeks. The file is from Ileana from I Scrap Designs at www.paperthreads.com. I did a simpler version and just cut the numbers and oldometer from white cordinations and then cut black mats from black coredinations. I used the score pal on the edges. It is another great way to personalize a card...not by name but by age!
