Day 125

This card was an attempt to use up some "card parts" of which I seem to have a vast supply.
I had purchased some Kraft paper 5x7 card blanks. Then I had a piece of tan textured cardstock that I had stitched around. I added the sunflower and dragonfly stickers, and last I decided on "Thinking of You" which was cut from vinyl using my KNK. Another card finished, 1001 card parts to go!

Day 124

This is a card that I made for my sweet granddaughter ,Hailey Grace. It is from a file from I Scrap Designs. (See link on right side of page) The file is for a swirly frame that can be resized to fit your need. I cut a piece of Cardstock 4x8, scored it down the middle, and attached it to the back of the swirly frame to make it into a card. It turned out very nice ,if I must say so myself. :O)
The swirly frame file was cut with my Klic n Kut!

Day 123

Some pretty cardstock, vinyl, and a KNK. That is all it takes to make this card!
If I haven't told you before, I love vinyl!

Day 122

This card was designed in KNK Studio and cut with my KNK. The Jacob was welded and along with the 8 cut from patterned paper. The Happy Birthday was cut from vinyl...no messy glueing on little letters, just some transfer tape and it is on the card.
My days have been so busy lately, not sure why. I guess this time of the year the garden takes some extra time. Maybe it is why I enjoy winter so much!
I hope all of you make some time to do the things that you enjoy!
Tomorrow I am off to watch my sweet grandkids . Gavin, age 3 ,knocked out his second front tooth this weekend. He looks like a minature 7 year old with his 2 front top teeth missing. Hopefully he gets this out of his system before the permanent teeth come in. Thankfully, his Uncle is a dentist!

Day 121

After too long without my camera I am finally back. I have been busy with life lately, how that happens I don't know. :O)

So, because I have been a Blog Slacker lately today I will post 2 cards. Both are completely computer generated. What I like about these cards is that if you have paper, scissors, a computer and a printer you can make a card. You don't need a fancy cutter or stamps etc.

The first card was made using black cardstock for the background, a piece of printed paper that says Congratulations in many fonts, and then a computer generated and printed Congratulations. I used a piece of black ribbon behind the Congratulations.

The second card was made with a patterned premade card and the flower was printed and then colored with watercolor pencils.I used a piece of pink cardstock for the back of the flower print and added a piece of ribbon!

So if you want to make cards but don't want to invest a lot of money, here are 2 examples!

Day 120

This card was completely computer generated. The graphics are from www.pchugclub.com . I put the graphics in Microsoft Word, andd the words, and printed. I made a blue 6x6 card and added the 2 white card sections.
My nephew Aaron, who is a police officer, was just promoted. Aaron is a great person and a great police officer and our whole family is very proud of him!

Day 119

Another card from Darcy's Designs. This
card is the same design as the last 2. It has the great die cut look but so simple to make with the Klic n Kut. Darcy's files can be found at http://www.visualdesignsbychris.com/store/home.php?cat=296
Tomorrow I get my camera back...who would think you could miss a camera so much.
I have been working on organizing my craft room. It is unbelievable how much paper I have accumulated. I used my Klic n Kut to cut vinyl labels for my drawers so that I know what type of paper is in each drawer. If I ever get it "presentable" I will post pictures.

Day 118

Another card from Darcy's Designs.

On this card I used a patterned paper to cut out the Thanks. I put plain white paper behind the top and bottom cut out sections and used some of the pink dots as flower centers. The card was cut using my Klic n Kut and took minutes to complete.

Day 117

Well, I finally got to playtime. It was one of those weeks with no spare minutes.

And today when I finally had time to sit down and post I found that I had left my camera at my moms and she lives an hour from me. :O(

But I do have a few things saved to my computer and todays card is one of them. It is from Darcy's Designs and although I looked I can't find her website. She has some cute card files that are easy to make. Each card is just a few pieces but look so cool with the die cut letter look. I will keep looking for her site!

The card was cut on my Klic n Kut.

Day 116

So it is almost 8:30 am and I have washed the floors in the livingroom, diningroom, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and have 3 rooms dusted. WooHoo! I have some painting to get done today and some shopping so hopefully it all gets done and I still have playtime. I love playtime. :O)

My second son Matt, who is a Navy Dentist, will be 33 on Friday. I made a card for him, trying to keep it on the more masculine side.
The card is a 6x6 gatefold. I cut the 2 ovals with my Klic n Kut and did a cut and print to put tje Happy Birthday on the oval. Pretty simple!

Day 115

This pretty card was made with another file from I Scrap Designs. I cut the file with my KNK and then added the With Sympathy which was printed , cut with my paper cutter, and then scored around all edges with my ScorePal. The background paper as also scored around all edges. This file has so many possibilities!

Day 114

Another card using a file from I Scrap Designs at www.paperthreads.com or www.iscrapdesigns.blogspot.com. I am pleased to say that Ileana asked me to be part of her design team!!!
Her files are all easy to use and cut nicely. When I first made this card I cut it out of a white mother of pearl type paper. It was stunning just like that. I then added a piece of the same white paper behind the lattice. It was embossed with my Sizzix heart texture plate and my Cuttlebug. The hearts were cut from a gold texture paper as was the rectangle behind the Always and Forever. The Always and Forever were computer generated using the Robo Passion Conflict font which was printed, sprinkled with clear embossing powder , and then embossed. The cutting was all done using my Klic n Kut!

Day 113

This is a card I wanted to make for a long time and http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ had a tutorial so I tried it. Although it is different it doesn't rank as one I want to make again. The white eyelet scalloped oval and the pink scalloped oval behind it were from http://mamawslegacy.com/cut/cut.html. Mary has some great files and they are free! She has them in KNK and many other forms of cutting files. Mine was cut using the KNK. I will cut Mary's file again and probably again. :O) I used the cut and print method and printed the Happy Birthday To You on to the white oval. The rest of the card was simply following the tutorial.
PS I just checked Mary's store where she sells her files and she is having a 40% off sale to help benefit her cousin who lost everything in a fire. Check it out!

Day 112

This card is one of my rare stamped cards. The tulip was stamped onto watercolor paper and then colored with watercolor pencils. I scored the edges of both the tulip and the computer generated Happy Birthday. I love the bright colors.

Day 112

This card was pretty simple. Both sayings were computer generated. The heart background is from a sizzix texture plate run through the cuttlebug with plates A, B, texture plate, and then a plumbing gasket.

The paper was cut using a paper cutter and then the corners cut with a SU corner punch.

Day 111

This cut is a result of a tutorial Sandy McCauley had on her blog, www.ILoveKNK.com.
It was on June 24th, 2009 and was called the modified fan. It looked simple enough so I thought I would try it and this is the end result. It was designed in KNK Studio and cut with the KNK.
It is always fun to learn something new! Thanks Sandy!

Day 110

Another gatefold card with a welded word. These are so easy to design! With this card I cut the card base from blue and then cut two patterned rectangles for the front. I like the gatefold cards because they are a bit different, and so easy when you use the KNK to cut them!. If you want the file, email me and I will send it your way.
It has been a busy week. We started with a sick dog. Our 13 year old yorkie poo Molly got sick on Saturday and on Sunday it was obvious she wasn't going to be able to wait until Monday so we called the vet and took her in. She was in kidney failure. They wanted to keep her overnight and give her fluid but I didn't want her sick and alone in a cage at the vets. So I had him show me how to give fluids and took her home. She was soooo sick. I took her back Monday and he thought he could keep her alive for maybe 6 months but she would be in and out of kidney failure. Not very fair to little Miss Molly. So I had her put to sleep and took her home. She was the sweetest little girl and she is missed.
Our raspberry patch has been in overdrive this year so I have been picking berries a couple hours a day. It is relaxing but eats up all of my free time!
Right now my crafting space is so buried in junk that it may take me days to get a space clean so that I can make a card. I try to be neat but I just have way too much stuff!
